Indian Education -- An Overview: Policy to Pedagogy

Teaching staff, counselors, coaches, principals, district office personnel: Join us to explore how American Indian education reflects best practice by expanding understandings of diversity and equity. You will also gain personal perspective that will equip you as an educator to advocate for American Indian students.The session will provide an overview of historical foundations surrounding American Indian education and the relationship and responsibilities between the US Government and American Indian people. In addtion we will dispel the myth of data irrelevances as it pertains to the American Indian educational experience.
